The Five Key Areas for Busy Moms' Holiday Sanity
The weeks before Christmas are magical. It's almost like the fairies have spread fairy dust in the air and everyone goes a little nuts. Or very nuts...
Personally, when I was a kid I only thought so much of Christmas. What was most exciting was reading that new book I had wished for and knew was coming. As a mother, looking for a Christmas tree because our last one died and my daughter can't imagine another day not having one, I begin feeling the pressure building up.

It doesn't help looking around, seeing and feeling the hysteria around where others are frantically shopping for trees and decorations or other holiday items. In this moment I know that it's my responsibility to stay calm, collected and connected.
Yes, go for it! Have fun and create your own family traditions. By prioritizing the five areas below, we can reduce our level of stress and frustration while truly being more present and enjoying this time because we have more calm energy. We don't expect our car to run without fuel. We don't expect our phones to work without batteries. But we think that we can operate without looking after ourselves and recharging our own batteries.
The Five Areas for Moms' Holiday Sanity

3. Physical Health
4. Spiritual Health
5. Daily Self Care

It may seem like an impossible formula to properly address these areas while getting everything else taken care of. Don't worry, there's so much we can do that gives us much more in return than the effort we put out.
Start with a quiet moment where you reflect upon what traditions you would like to keep, which ones you may be ready to leave behind and if there's something new that you'd like to introduce.
In the following posts, you will find a few simple told, hacks, ideas, questions and suggestions that will assist keeping your sanity, look at your own expectations and the bigger picture and benefits of healing from our own pasts.
